I’ll admit it. I’m nervous about this journey we are about to embark. For a college student to become an author, sounds awesome but nervewracking. But I know, it won’t be bad knowing I have positive people supporting me, my writing partner in crime by my side and my determination of making this dream a reality. No matter what, we have to block out the haters, block out the negativity and focus what’s important. Sure, there are doubts that swirl in my head.
‘What if people won’t like what my friend and I are writing?’
‘Should I allow people to see my work?’
‘Will I be good enough?’
At the end of the day, I have to remember to shut out the doubts. Do what I want to do and work hard doing it. Focus on the goal.
Writing is therapeutic, whenever I’m thinking about something I enjoy writing it down. When I’m listening to music, just hearing the bass, beat, melody or either the vocals I can form a story in my head then type it in my phone to work on it later. It’s always been like this since I wrote my very first story back when I was twelve years old. Now that I’m in college, I’m not going to let anyone stop me from doing what I love.
With that being said, welcome and join us as we become authors, battle the obstacles that come with it, try new writing challenges and keep you updated on what’s going on with our first book and life.
When a new path is created in your journey, prepare for the obstacles and hardship that comes along with it. — Selene.
